Learn moreThe founder
Katie Kollar did not discover Pilates in a fitness studio. She found it out of genuine necessity. After being hit by a van in New York City and suffering significant back and neck injuries that led to chronic pain — pain that neither physiotherapy nor conventional medicine could resolve — she encountered the classical system of Joseph Pilates. She recognised immediately that this was far more than mere exercises. It was a complete method for transforming the body from the inside out.
What began as a personal healing journey became a calling. Katie completed comprehensive training in the classical method — not the adapted modern variations, but the original system as developed by Joseph Pilates himself. She studied the complete Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, High Chair, Ladder Barrel, and all supporting apparatus under direct guidance from teachers trained in the original method.
Today, with over 20 years of experience, Katie teaches at Bäckergasse 4 in Wels with the same quiet intensity she brought on her very first day. Her studio is not a place for trends or quick fixes — it is a place where movement is taught with precision and every client is treated as an individual.
What sets Katie apart is not just her technical mastery, but her deep conviction: that the body — at any age, after any injury — has the capacity to change for the better. You feel this conviction in every session. She does not merely correct posture; she helps people regain the trust they had lost in their own bodies.

Katie teaches alongside five training apprentices — Sandra, Anna, Claudia, Julia, and Tanja — who are completing the classical Pilates teacher training programme.
The method
Classical Pilates is not a workout. It is a system. Joseph Pilates called it 'Contrology' — the complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit. Every exercise exists not in isolation, but as part of a logical sequence that systematically strengthens, stretches, and aligns the entire body.
In the studio, nothing is left to chance. Every session follows the classical exercise order: the Reformer for resistance and control, the Cadillac for recovery and flexibility, and the Wunda Chair for real-world strength. The equipment is not optional — every piece, from the large apparatus to the smallest corrector, is an essential part of the system.
The teaching style is calm, precise, and individual. Maximum attention to detail, not maximum repetitions. Because only when a movement is performed correctly can it truly change the body.
